About the Role

TartanHQ is looking for a Cybersecurity Intern who is eager to learn and build a career in Information Security, Cloud Security, and Application Security. This role is ideal for freshers or early-career candidates who want hands-on exposure to real-world security tools, compliance practices, and production environments while working closely with experienced security and engineering teams.
You don’t need to know everything — a strong willingness to learn, curiosity about security, and a basic technical foundation matter the most.

Key Responsibilities
• Support the security team in daily security operations and ongoing initiatives
• Assist in vulnerability assessments and basic security testing (under guidance)
• Help monitor security alerts, logs, and dashboards
• Support cloud security reviews, audits and configuration checks
• Assist with access control reviews, credential hygiene, and asset inventory
• Help document security procedures, findings, and remediation steps
• Learn and follow security policies, compliance requirements, and best practices
• Participate in internal security audits, drills, and awareness activities
• Collaborate with DevOps and developers to improve application and infrastructure security

Required Skills & Qualifications
• Basic understanding of computer networks and operating systems (Linux / Windows)
• Familiarity with basic cybersecurity concepts (malware, phishing, firewalls, authentication, encryption, etc.)
• Basic knowledge of cloud concepts (AWS / Azure / GCP – any one)
• Understanding of web technologies (HTTP, APIs, browsers – basic level)
• Willingness to learn tools and scripting (Shell / Python – beginner level is fine)
• Good analytical mindset and attention to detail
• Strong curiosity and ethical mindset toward security
• Ability to work from office in Gurgaon for the full internship duration (6 months)
• B.Tech / BE / MCA / M.Tech in Computer Science / Cybersecurity / Information Security

Good to Have 
• Exposure to any security and process compliance tools (SPRINTO, SCRUT etc)
• Awareness of OWASP Top 10 vulnerabilities
• Basic knowledge of cloud security or IAM concepts
• Understanding of Git, CI/CD, or DevOps fundamentals
• Participation in CTFs, labs, certifications, or personal security projects
• Knowledge of compliance frameworks (ISO 27001, SOC2)
